EOC Week 9 Three Great Mission Statements

Upon reviewing the class mission statements, I didn’t find that many students had completed the assignment.  I was however able to find three statements that I enjoyed reading.  The first mission statement was from Vintage Jen, and her beer Desejo.  The fact that you can drink a beer that makes you experience a feeling of relaxation.  I was sold on this because it sounds like a fantasy type of beer.  My favorite movie is Wizard of Oz, one of the world’s greatest fantasies ever told.  The next mission statement I enjoyed was from Sm Funk.,” Our mission at Gontarek breweries is to provide "a personalized experience that brings friends and family together"  I mean enough said, when does a person really truly enjoy a beer, but when they are drinking with family and friends. “to Apple buyers, a Mac computer or an iPhone is much more than just a piece of electronics equipment. It’s a part of buyers’ own self-expression and lifestyle—a part of what they are” printed page 135. Armstrong & Kotler (2011). Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Ed. Prentice Hall Publishing  and we are all one big consumer family.      “An organization exists to accomplish something, and this purpose should be clearly stated. Forging a sound mission begins with the following questions: What is our business? Who is the customer? What do consumers value? What should our business be?”printed pg 39 Armstrong & Kotler (2011). Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Ed. Prentice Hall Publishing   I would say the last of three mission statements that I enjoyed would be RB Bowman very well organized and put together with thought, to become a legend wow!

EOC 8: Creative Content Property

In order to display my Mormon Crunk Juice as a product, I will be creating the following:  First there will be a thirty second commercial, displaying some of the Mormon Temple, and symbol of Moroni, and some Mormon missionaries drinking the Mormon Crunk Juice explaining how great the beverage taste.  I will also include some stock footage of Mormon history and possibly some footage of BYU football team, and basketball squad.  If allowed to I will go to c store and have an actor buy the beverage from the shelf.  Also Included in this commercial, will a narrated voice over portion, which I will do the narration.  In the back ground of the commercial will be a piece of original music under toning to giving the commercial life.  To create the commercial I will be shooting in HD format and editing with Avid Media Composer.  The missionaries or Mormon Church members will be filmed on location either at the church or somewhere on church grounds.  The musical piece will be created in my home studio using Reason music creation software, and recorded and mixed with Pro Tools.  I will also take and photo shop a picture of The Prophet Moroni and place him on a bottle to create a product to bring to class.  If time permits I will go to Las Vegas brewing company and take a tour to get a feel of a brewery.  I’m going to go to the grocery store and purchase the products that are apart of the beer and create it to bring a sample to class.  I feel it is important for me to do the research because this way I can make the product as factual as possible.  And this will conclude my Creative Content Property for this Marketing class project.

EOC 7 Final Project: The Pitch

Mormons can’t drink beer, according to their Words of Wisdom, beliefs.  So what about that Mormon that’s watching the big game or hanging out with his boys, what is he supposed to do?  The answer is simple, give him Mormon Crunk Juice.  That’s right, Mormon Crunk Juice is a non-alcoholic drink brewed with fresh cinnamon, fresh apples, poplar bark and hemlock.  The Prophet Brigham had these same ingredients in an orchard cellar, and now they are being brewed for Mormons to enjoy.  Wyth Nu Entertainment Productions.Has developed the beverage in the fall of 2010. With its main brewery headquarters located in St Louis, Missouri the company hasopened up a brewery in Las Vegas, Nevada.  WNP’s brewing combines traditional brewing methods and the latest technological innovations.  Mormon Crunk Juice combines"4 oz. each of bayberry, poplar bark and hemlock; 2 oz. each of ground ginger, cloves and cinnamon; and 1 ounce of cayenne pepper, and is brewed using traditional brewing methods in steeled brew kettles.  Before shipping and filling the bottles, there is a pasteurization process.  This ensures that the  packaged beer can be shipped and stored without refrigeration  The result is an all-natural process that ages the beer slowly and naturally. The crunkness is the defining moment of enjoying life, and living the moment.  So  now when that Mormon  is at the gave or just hanging with the homies, he can now enjoy a nice task of Mormon Crunk Juice. The new non-alcoholic beverage, and maintain the Words of Wisdom.  And similar to Zappos, Mormon Crunk Juice is sure to ““Create fun and a little weirdness.” Armstrong &Kotler (2011). Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Ed. Prentice Hall Publishing    For members and non-members of The Church of Latter Day Saints.

WEEK 6 EOC ME TIMES THREE

WEEK 6 EOC ME TIMES THREE
When it comes to three personal items I choose to use on a daily basis, I would say they would be Avon After Shave, St Ives Lotion, and the Gillette Shaver.  My personal hygiene is something that I take great pride in, and I consider a core value of my personality.  Every day a part of my bathing activities is to shave my face, and every other day my head..   I’ve tried many different razors, from the electric, to the disposable ones.  However none of those tend to give my face that smooth close cut I was longing for.  It wasn’t until I choose to use Gillette’s hand-held   razors, that I had finally found the right razors.  According to some research, it was said that Gillette products are targeted “where the major segment of the population considers shaving to be a desirable activity and the means to look clean and sophisticated for example India and America”. http://mgmt280.blogspot.com/2009/11/segmentation-targeting-and-positioning l Once you shave with a Gillette Razor , you will soon notice that you are gliding thru hair and left with a clean shave.
Another product that I use is Avon After Shave Lotion.  After completing a shave with my Gillette Shaver, I have to provide protection and fresh smells.  Avon is primary geared towards women customers, but its origin is ironic.” Historically, the first Avon Lady was actually a man, young salesman named David McConnell.”  David went door to door selling books, however realize that women wanted a gift when purchase an item. http://www.avoncompany.com/about/firsts.html  Thus he  began giving away perfume, and the rest is history.  Recently Avon has noticed increasing in the sale of men products.  As a result, Avon has began a campaign to increase its amount of men products available.  My last item of personal items of hygiene is St Ives lotion.  My skin is ver dry, due to my ethic make-up, therefore I can use just any brand of lotion.  St Ives provides athe skin proctection from dryness that I need.  “St. Ives is a skin care product line that has been around for decades. One of the most distinctive things about this brand is its commitment to using natural ingredients.” http://www.stives.com/Products/  Another item that has adapted that natural ingredient attitude is Red Bull.  When asked to introduce Red Bull Cola, the company responded by, “Why not?” asks the company—it’s strong and natural, just like the original Red Bull” Armstrong & Kotler (2011). WEEK 5:Health Reform

With all the political procedures taking place and all the elections going on, Health Care Reform is still a debate and topic at the forefront.  When it comes to the age brackets and the social status there are many factors to consider.  As far as the senior citizens those in the sixty five and over age group, “the federal governments regular payments to the Medicare Advantage program are set to be cut over the next 10 years by $132 billion” http://www.articlesbase.com/insurance-articles/how-does-health-care-reform-affect-senior-citizens-3371822.html. For those seniors who are on fixed income, they may not be able to afford medical coverage.  Now when it comes to those citizens in the thirties to sixty age bracket, where do they fall within this reform?  Well this is where the famlies come into the picture.  Most families area already working two jobs within the house to make ends meet. The healthcare reform bill would mandate that most US citizens and legal residents purchase “minimal essential coverage” for themselves and their dependents
As a result more money will be needed as an expense to take care of the family needs.  And with a man-date on purchasing it, there’s no way to by pass this law.  http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/2010/0319/Health-care-reform-bill-101-Who-must-buy-insurance.  There is however a couple of groups who may not be as greatly affected by the bill as the rest of the age groups.  According to the law, ”
There are exceptions. Certain people with religious objections would not have to get health insurance. Nor would American Indians, illegal immigrants, or people in prison.”  So should I rob a bank, become a prisoner and not worry about the extra expense.   At least in prison they do provide medical care for inmates.  When it comes to those who have jobs possibly eighteen to thirty five, they have the option to purchase medical through their employers benefit plans.” Employees who have a pre-existing medical condition and who have been uninsured for at least six months will be eligible to enroll in the high-risk pool and receive subsidized premiums” http://www.zanebenefits.com/blog/2010/03/217/How+Health+Care+Insurance+Reform+Affects+U.S.+Employers+and+their+Employees   As a result of the study to be honest I could see being against the reform bill, I feel that it is a beneficial bill to pass.

EOC WEEK 4: Advertisement is based on Happiness

WEEK 4 EOC: “Advertisement is based on Happiness”

I remember the time when purchased my music studio equipment. The purchase included the recording software Pro-tools, studio monitors, a recording microphone and a computer.  The purchase of the equipment of at that  time was way over my budget, but I didn’t mind.  I was so happy purchasing the equipment, because no longer did I have to rely on other people studios to record my music.  This allowed me to get up in my own home, anytime and record as long I wanted to.  Also now instead of paying for studio time, I could now charge people to record, and make money.  With my love for music, and passion for arts, this was and still is one the best purchases.  Every time I sit down and record music, I fully enjoy the experience and the freedom that it brings.
On Saturday 10/23/11, I finally did it! I purchased a WII game console.  First of all, I’m not really into gaming, or the whole video games.  I’ve had my Play Station 2 for quite some time and have been pretty content.  However due to family influence I purchased the game system.  When I got home and played the game that came with the console, it was fun.   I enjoyed playing the game and played with family for hours.  The game system with insurance costs about two-hundred and fifty dollars.  On Monday while at work I sat at my desk, wondering why I had purchased the WII.  The thrill of the game had worn off.  For me the purchase has created some dissonance, because I’m looking for the next game to catch the thrill and reason for the purchase.  The game console does allow my family to spend some quality time together, however that two-hundred and fifty dollars could have been spent on many other items.

WEEK 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

When people think of Heineken, they think of a nice refreshing beverage to enjoy.    The company’s mission statement is “To be recognized by our Customers, Suppliers and Employees as the Premier Company in the Beverage Industry.” http://www.gotbeer.com/index07.php?page_id=78   amongst the alcohol giants, Heineken ranks within the top five percentage.    The fourth value of the mission statement is “4. Meaningful Community Involvement
We will be an active, positive influence in the communities where we live and work by dedicating our time, resources, and support.” With this said Heineken has implemented Heineken with a Heart, a charity organization that gives back to charities and non-profit organization.  In 2007, it raised over $520,000 in areas such as New York, Tampa, Atlanta, and Chicago.

In June of 2009, in White Plains, New York Heineken with a Heart organized a food drive to to benefit Food Bank for Westchester. At the event attendees were encouraged to donate at least one box of food in exchange for raffle tickets to win prizes, and dinner. ” All proceeds will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester in its mission to lead, engage and  educate Westchester County in creating a hunger-free environment.” www.americantowns.com/ny/whiteplains/news/heineken-with-a-heart-to-benefit-food-bank-
July 2009, the United Negro College Fund held and event for college students to raise money to assist with college Tuition.  Heineken with a Heart sponsored the event. http://clatl.com/atlanta/benefit-heineken-with-a-heart/Content?oid=1281462 . “ Heineken USA and 42 The Restaurant invite Westchester residents to honor U.S. service members at a Heineken with a Heart fundraiser benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project, August 9. Community members 21 and older are invited to show their support while mingling with celebrity guests, enjoying complimentary cuisine and toasting our troops.” http://www.westchester.com/events/day/view/1259.html

So as Heineken sits amongst the giants of the alcoholic beverage industry, it also serves a big part in giving back to the world charities.

EOC 3 INTERNET PRIVACY vs MARKET RESEARCh

Internet Privacy is a very strong subject matter, in fact any privacy for that matter.  When the internet was first introduced it its purpose was government usage.  Over the years up to now, human’s have corrupted a valuable tool.  Every time you surf on the internet the sites that you go to are stored in your history and cookies files.  If you are using the internet in public places, and do not clear your history or cookies, then the next person can easily track.  I work for an internet company Clear, as a result have come to realize just how addictive people are to the internet.  With the invention of WI-FI people can access other people networks, and hack into their systems if they are not secure.  And also certain sites that you click on and input your information, sell your information to advertisers or marketing agencies.  Starting this spring, companies will be able to selectively target Facebook's members in order to research the appeal of new products through a polling system called Engagement Ads as demonstrated at the World Economic Forum in Davos. http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/facebook_sells_your_data.php
An interesting fact that I found is that “ Two states, Nevada and Minnesota, require Internet Service Providers to keep private certain information concerning their customers, unless the customer gives permission to disclose the information.” www.ncsl.org/IssuesResearch/TelecommunicationsInformationTechnology/StateLawsRelatedtoInternetPrivacy/tabid/13463/Default.aspx   The Sisterhood, an online social network for teens, actually have admitted that they use this site to targets teenager’s shopping habits.  They share their secrets and influence one another … As marketers, it’s important to see what they are talking about and what they are buying,” says Marian Salzman, president of Euro RSCG.  With this said, how many other social networks have the same mentality.  As an internet users the ultimate decision is yours on what you want to provide security and privacy of your personal information. http://www.bnet.com/blog/advertising-business/inside-8220the-sisterhood-8221-the-social-networking-site-that-wants-teen-girls-to-8220share-their-secrets-8221-with-advertisers/5071

EOC Customer Service 2

I recently went back to Ashley Furniture to purchase a living room set for my residence.  When I walked into the store I felt that the eyes of the sales people were on me, hawking for the sale.  After walking around the store, I found the sales man who had assisted me a year ago.  .  I approached him, and he smiled,   He said “you are back Mr Robinson, how may I help?.”  He said, “  are you happy with your furniture you purchased last year?”  I was amazed first of all,, that he remembered my name.  “The twofold goal of marketing is to attract new customers by promising superior value and to keep and grow current customers by delivering satisfaction.” Armstrong & Kotler (2011). Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Ed. Prentice Hall Publishing  Pg 5 .according to Market Analyst..    I felt very satisfied that the salesman had not only remembered my name, but also the fact that he cared about my customer satisfaction.  As a result of his great service, I purchased some more furniture.  I’m very happy about both of purchases.  I feel that Ashley does care about new business, but also want to ensure that their current customers are satisfied.  This is a great practice because you don’t feel like they just want your money, they want to keep your business and build a relationship.  I’ll probably continue to purchase my furniture from Ashley, due to the salesman attitude and customer service tactics.  If more store employees would take this type of approach, then the American consumer will appreciate shopping at their stores.  Bottom line is customer satisfaction, not the money aspect.  With great customer satisfaction the money will come and business will grow.  Ashley’s mission statement is, “We Want to be the BEST Furniture Company” http://www.ashleyfurniture.com/   In my opinion, it is living up to the words of their mission statement.

Week 2 EOC Video Games

In the world of video game consoles there is fierce competition to be number one amongst consumers.  Over the years Sony and Nintendo and Microsoft have been battling back and forth to be at the top spot.  In recent months the Xbox has eclipsed at the number one spot according to NPD Group”  Xbox 360 has now topped the sales charts for two months in a row. Microsoft's video-game console, fueled by a new model and the promise of Kinect, outsold the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 in July 2008”.   The WII has sold over a millions consoles, even though there has been a decline in console sales, it still is the number one console sold in 2009.” The Sony PlayStation 3 was the star console this year, posting a two per cent increase of units sold compared to 2008. However it still could not overtake the Nintendo Wii which retained the lead as the most sold console of 2009”   Lately the Apple has also climbed into the gaming world,   With the IPhone and its various applications, phone gaming has created a threat to the video consoles.    It is apparent that Nintendo, and Sony ar feeling the pressure of the Apple,  simply because they are beginning to add their platforms with Apple products.  With the Windows Phone 7, Xbox will be incorporated, which is a first for a phone.  "The phone is built around the individual, and is highly customizable, allowing for seamless integration between business and social functions," said Ms Jessica Tan, Managing Director, Microsoft Singapore  In perspective; I believe as far as the Boston Consulting Group, and the above results the Cash Cow would be Apple, the Dog would be X Bo,x Nintendo  would be the star, and the question would be online gaming or PC games.

EOC Week 1 MY VOICE

As a film producer/director the words of a script/ or the way the actor/actress performs; is displayed through my creativity and what I create.  Everything that is created, starts (with in you) the creator. As film producers and directors we speak vocally through the script dialect or with an instrument such as a ball point pen.  Our messages that we deliver must be able to reach the emotions, deliver messages, and be able to with stand audience and critic opinions..   When My Voice I speak strong, very deep, and draw attention.  It sounds as if a roll of thunder has destroyed a valley, but yet it comforts as if a mother’s arm.  In my voice, I deliver content that holds deep powerful storylines, and leave the audience with messages of wanting more.  They remain captivated in a state of worth and enjoyable entertainment.  Wyth Nu Productions is not only a mouthpiece to the genre of film and television productions, it serves as a vehicle for music and artists development as well.  Therefore the voice that I speak is of dual dialect, and diversity.  Being able to communicate within two areas of entertainment allows my voice to not experience much closed caption, and the revenue to be fed...  .
