WEEK 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

When people think of Heineken, they think of a nice refreshing beverage to enjoy.    The company’s mission statement is “To be recognized by our Customers, Suppliers and Employees as the Premier Company in the Beverage Industry.” http://www.gotbeer.com/index07.php?page_id=78   amongst the alcohol giants, Heineken ranks within the top five percentage.    The fourth value of the mission statement is “4. Meaningful Community Involvement
We will be an active, positive influence in the communities where we live and work by dedicating our time, resources, and support.” With this said Heineken has implemented Heineken with a Heart, a charity organization that gives back to charities and non-profit organization.  In 2007, it raised over $520,000 in areas such as New York, Tampa, Atlanta, and Chicago.   

In June of 2009, in White Plains, New York Heineken with a Heart organized a food drive to to benefit Food Bank for Westchester. At the event attendees were encouraged to donate at least one box of food in exchange for raffle tickets to win prizes, and dinner. ” All proceeds will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester in its mission to lead, engage and  educate Westchester County in creating a hunger-free environment.” www.americantowns.com/ny/whiteplains/news/heineken-with-a-heart-to-benefit-food-bank-
 July 2009, the United Negro College Fund held and event for college students to raise money to assist with college Tuition.  Heineken with a Heart sponsored the event. http://clatl.com/atlanta/benefit-heineken-with-a-heart/Content?oid=1281462 . “ Heineken USA and 42 The Restaurant invite Westchester residents to honor U.S. service members at a Heineken with a Heart fundraiser benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project, August 9. So as Heineken sits amongst the giants of the alcoholic beverage industry, it also serves a big part in giving back to the world charities.
